Trusting God: TIme to turn the Page! Week 2

I woke this morning and headed for the kitchen for my first cup of coffee! God spoke, "It's time to turn the page and start week 2." You may wonder what has taken me so long to get to week 2. You see, those questions at the end of Week one shook me to my core.

Those questions begged answers of me. I had to answer to a Holy God about those questions. They weren't just answers He wanted to hear but blatantly honest ones. I ended up so humbled by God after the end of the first week that I simply had to "wait upon the Lord" to move forward. Even after I'd finished those questions, they'd rang loudly in my ears. The answers I'd given.

I got in my car and put in Gwen Smith's Cd. The first song is Center of Surrender. It talks about asking God to be the center of my surrender. Surrender in trusting Him in all areas of my life. What does that mean? It means Alicia Roark let's go of the rope and trusts God to catch her every single time she falls. Now that is some trust. It's become my prayer, "Lord, come be the center of my surrender."

I hopped in my bed and listened to the video for this week. Peace. Peace from life's circumstances that can only be obtained by God! Then the Bible verse: "The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You." V4. "Trust in the Lord forever, For in God the Lord, we have an everlasting Rock." Isaiah 26:3-4 (NASB). Now that verse alone made me just want to stand and shout!

I began to read the devotion. Oh how it spoke to my heart! Mary Southerland spoke of using the term "Rest in Peace" normally in the circumstances of death. Oh, but we've been scratching the surface again! Man, this stuff is deep! Did you know that Rest in Peace can be associated with life?!! It's called having a relationship with Jesus Christ. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords! In Him on a daily basis we can truly "Rest in Peace."

Do your find yourself in a place of stress, needing some answers?!!! Trusting God book is the book for you! Please go grab you a copy today! www.amazon.com

Enoy the video!

Trusting God Book-It's your turn Now!

Since the arrival of this powerful book, I've been amazed, blessed by, and simply humbled by God. I got to day six 2 days ago. You might be saying to yourself, but Alicia, you should be on day 2 of week 2. I know I should, but when it got to these questions God stopped me cold in my tracks. I heard God say to me, "It's really your turn now. We have some much needed talking to do."

Lip service is always easy when life is going great! It's easy to trust God. It's kind of like that silly commercial from staples when you hit the easy button. That's what I'd been giving God. Lip service. I heard Him say, "You're not much different than doubting Thomas. I have to put it right where you can see it before you trust in ME and the fact that I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you." I wanted to crawl under the bed. However, the reality set in that I can't hide from Him. He was right. I'd been hitting the easy button, but when the storm came I definitely went running in the other direction. I'd gotten shaky faith, because I'd felt like the rug had been pulled from underneath me.

He said, "Remember, I'm the same God who saved you at age 9 from a place called Hell, I saved you from child abuse, I've provided for your every need. " I listened a little more, and He said, "Just like my friend Lazarus to Mary and Martha I was 4 days late but I was right on time and for you I'll always be right on time."

Humbled by the hard questions I've had to answer over the past day or two I'm learning that Trusting God is the only solution to any of life's problems. It's not like I didn't know that before but in my modern-day world I'd been relying too much on that easy button.

These questions didn't get the easy button response. They were questions that pierced down to the depths of my soul. I was humbled by God himself in the midst of my easy-button life.

So, today I ask you, while reading Trusting God when it comes to the Now it's your turn questions. DO NOT HIT THE EASY BUTTON. Take time to be still and know that He is God. Invite God to meet you in the midst of those questions. You never know what He will say!

Please enjoy the video....It's so appropriate to today's blog.

Amazed by His grace,
Alicia

Trusting God Book...My first lesson in Trust

Last night when I arrived home I noticed that my copy of Trusting God had arrived. I'd eagerly awaited its arrival. When you talk about the timeliness of a book release date, this one God ordered it's steps like nothing I've ever witnessed before.

You see, I've been talking about my David and Goliath situation. It seems like this giant is so big it's unbeatable. Well, guess what? In my own strength and power it is. I've been thinking a lot about the arrival of this book before it hit my door step. I'd stared myself in my spiritual mirror and asked the tough question. Do I really trust God with ALL situations? It's easy to trust Him during Mountain top days (Good days when things are great), but what about during the days in the lowest parts of the valley???

I'd finished supper and said to my husband, "I'm gonna take my bible and my book and go spend some time with God before bed. I"m markedly exhausted." He said, "Ok, I'll be in later." I hopped into my pj's, grabbed my Bible, and my new book and climbed into my bed. I made a commitment that before I even opened the cover, I'd pray. So, I began to pray and I made it a simple prayer, "Dear God, speak to my heart through this book. In Jesus' Name-Amen." What would happen after that I never expected.

I thought, I saw that there are videos that correspond with the devotions for each week. So, I took my tablet and got on the Girlfriends in God page. I found the first video. I leaned against the pillows and began to listen. It wasn't long before a lump gathered in my throat. A familiar verse I"d heard all my life finally had BRAND NEW MEANING. It had the word TRUST in it. In the video the definition of the word TRUST in Proverbs 3:5 was given. I NEVER knew that's what trust really meant in that verse. I'd only been scratching the mere surface of that verse every time I'd read it. God had been speaking that same verse to me just last week when this David and Goliath situation began. THIS VERY VERSE He'd been speaking to me. No wonder my head hurt so bad last week. I wasn't listening. I had NO CLUE this was the first verse to begin the book. I finished watching the video all choked up already I grabbed the book and began opened the cover. I read the acknowledgement. More tears. This book was written just for people in situations that seem insurmountable. I read the reviews from popular people. More tears. THEN finally the first devotion...

There it sat, Proverbs 3:5. The first devotion is the one I needed for just last night. God knew! I read the devotion and read the prayer afterwards. I closed the book, dried my eyes, and laid down and began to pray. The only words I could pray last night were this. "Dear God, I bail." In Jesus' Name I pray-Amen.

Trusting God. This book will change forever who you are in Christ Jesus. I"m only on the first devotion and I get to read the second one today! Please do yourself the favor and go buy yourself a copy. Watch the video for each week prior to the reading. Pray before you even crack open the cover and ask God to teach you how to Trust Him more!

Trusting God Release Day! TODAY!!!!

It's the long anticipated book of the year! Ok, I'm a little partial to these ladies because they are my girlfriends!

However, this book is timely! You see, we all are constantly on a journey of Trust. You may be currently standing on the mountain where life is great! The flowers are pretty, the sun is shining, and the birds are singing! Remember, even when we're on the mountain, we still are on a journey of trust because we are Trusting God that during our time on the mountain He will continue to be Jehovah Jireh (God Provides). It's easy on the mountain right?!!! However, God never promised us that we'd always stay there.

You see there's a place called the valley. It's in the trenches of life that we normally learn who God really is, and that His promises never fail. Just yesterday morning I was having my quiet time and then I finished up. God put into my path a book marker I'd made at last year's women's retreat. I know the verse but God said, "Look it up on the internet for the Message version." Well, it didn't take long and I was a mess. Here's what Isaiah 43:2 says in the Message Bible. "
4 But now, God's Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob,
the One who got you started, Israel:
"Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you.
I've called your name. You're mine.
When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you.
When you're in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you're between a rock and a hard place,
it won't be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That's how much you mean to me!
That's how much I love you!
I'd sell off the whole world to get you back,
trade the creation just for you.

Well, then I got in my car and started to drive to work. I said, "God, my girlfriends' book is coming out tomorrow. I"m in the thick of a Trust YOU moment RIGHT NOW. I need to know that you're hearing me, and understand, and that my David and Goliath situation will be ok.

I merged onto the interstate. I heard God beckon me to look up. Right in front of me in the clouds was a bird that kind of looked like an eagle. It circled right in front of me twice. God said, " Yet those who [a]wait for the LORD
Will (A)gain new strength;
They will [b](B)mount up with [c]wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.

It disappeared just as quick as it came. Then I drove a little more down the road and saw in the clouds a perfect image of two outstretched arms. He said, "Here I am." Then if that wasn't enough I looked over to my left and saw a HUGE hand shaped cloud. He said, "I will carry you. Trust me, I am right here."

I had to gather myself before going into work. I was in complete shock. You see although I may be in the thick of a David and Goliath moment, I know He is with me. Trusting Him is a daily process for anybody. Especially when you're in the valley.

Please do me a favor, go grab you a copy of my Girlfriends' book Trusting God. It will be a blessing to you. Mine is in the mail and I can't wait.

Here's one thing special about my girlfriends who wrote the book. Here's what they've said: "We don't care about the number of books that sell, we want to point others to Jesus through this book."

My girlfriends are just those kinds of ladies. Humble, sweet, and pointing others to Christ! Here's the link to the book. http://www.amazon.com/Trusting-God-Girlfriends-Faith-Adventure/dp/1601423934/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1323779027&sr=8-4

Happy Reading Ladies!
